Yesterday while I was doing a tour on my favourite blogs looking for some worksheets, I discovered something that made me feel really sad. I was surprised to see the same worksheets posted on different blogs and by different people. First I thought it was a coincidence but then I noticed that even the cliparts were the same...everything was exactly the same except the name of the author...
As teachers we should give good examples, we shouldn't take other people's work and just put our name on it. The goal of educational blogs is to share ideas and materials, we do pick up other people's ideas and projects to make our owns, but what's the point of signing it as ours? Please be honest with yourself and your readers. It's not hard to name the real author, it doesn't harm saying good things about other teachers and their good ideas. I've done it myself and I always reveal my source. It's a way of making friends around the whole net and helping each other.
Take a time to think about this and give me your opinion... ***

  1. I can not believe it!!!
Shame on you (the ones who did it).
What is wrong with you people, why is it so hard to recognise the talent and hard work of someone else?!
Teacher should be friends (like the teachers from this blog) and give an example.
Maybe you should name the ones who did it or send them an email.
I say THANK YOU...thank you for your work and for every time you helped me.

  1. come come we have a surprise for you (andré)

  1. Hi Rute,
I can agree more with you and I wonder if teachers who do that are real teachers. Internet is a powerful information and communication tool but this is not the problem. The problem is the use some people and teachers make of it.
Today I was reading and interesting article in the Spanish newspaper El País called in English "Google, can you do my homework?". We live in the "copy&paste world", not only students do that but also teachers as you have said. As we can see, there is a lot of work to do since these people do not know how to use the web in a pedagogical way. We have to learn to get the most out of the internet in and honest and creative way.
Teachers who copy and paste from other teacher are not educators, they lack of imagination and without imagination and excitement, how can you motivate your students and help they to grow and learn?
